ORLANDO, Fla. - A Lyft driver was arrested Wednesday night on rape charges, according to Orlando police.

Police said Peter Solomon, 49, raped a woman whom he picked up during his shift in early July.

According to a police report, the victim used the Lyft app from Knight’s Pub on North Alafaya Trail at about 11 p.m. July 1.

The driver picked up the victim in a Dodge Grand Caravan, police said.

Solomon was supposed to drive to her home in Winter Park, but instead, he pulled into the driveway of a rundown single-story home and ordered her inside the house, the report said.

"She knew where she started. She knew where she wanted to go, and he took a different path," said Sgt. Tammi Edwards of the Orlando Police Department.

The victim said there were two other men in the house. She was taken into a room and left alone, and police said she took the opportunity to try to flee out a side door of the home.

But Solomon caught her and chased her down, physically forcing her back into the home and into the bedroom, the report said.

Police said Solomon threatened the victim with violence if she resisted, then raped her.

The report also said the victim called 911 from her cellphone at 12:24 a.m. and held the phone at her side so as not to alert Solomon.

A 911 ping from the phone was in the area of Forsyth Road and Muskogee Street, police said.

Orange County sheriff’s deputies responded to the area, but were unable to locate the victim.

The victim told officers that Solomon made her get back into the car and drove her around for about five minutes. The victim made another discreet 911 call.

"She was talking out loud like she was having a normal conversation with the driver, and she was able to give landmarks," said Edwards. before telling her to get out of the car.

The victim got out of the vehicle at an AutoZone across from a Home Depot on East Colonial Drive and Semoran Boulevard.

The report said that the victim called her mother, who picked her up and took her home.

When the victim spoke with police, she said she could identify her attacker and wanted to press charges.

"She has been a very strong victim from the beginning, up until now," said Edwards.

The victim was taken to the Sexual Assault Treatment Center, along with the clothing that she wore on the night of the attack.

Solomon also faces charges of kidnapping and false imprisonment, police said.

Authorities said there may be more victims.

Solomon will appear before a judge on Thursday.
