Police have arrested an Uber driver after a woman said she was sexually assaulted during a ride over the weekend.

A 19-year-old woman ordered a ride using the Uber app before 1 a.m. on Saturday. A male driver arrived to pick her up, police said. They did not include information about the area where the woman was picked up or what her destination was.

Investigators said the woman was sexually assaulted during the ride.

Uber responded to the charge in an email Monday evening.

“No young woman deserves to experience what has been described and reported to police. We will continue to work with the Toronto Police Service to fully support their investigation, and the driver has been barred from accessing the Uber app,” the statement read.

A 38-year-old Toronto resident was arrested by police the same day of the alleged incident.

Orjon Leska has been charged with sexual assault. He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 16, 2017.
